What it is
Stated precisely, theorima film lab is a collection of filmmakers with a cardinality of one1. Like any proper collection of filmmakers, theorima film lab’s primary concern is the research and development of moving pictures. No common thread ties together the films produced at theorima, except for the thinnest and loosest one: a strict adherence to a set of “well-defined” guiding principles, which, if they must be stated, might as well be stated here:
- (P1) If it can be expressed in words, clearly and completely, then there’s no need to make a film on it.
- (P2) Films raise questions, but their answers must come in the form of contradiction and ambiguity if they are to be truthful.
- (P3) The ideal final goal of a film is to create, in its own way, new pathways of thought and feeling.

What it is not
There are many things which theorima is not2; most importantly theorima is not a laboratory for developing and processing film negatives. We kindly request folks to refrain from sending in camera negatives3.
